Paul Smith combines his passionS

What's better than having one great passion? Well... having 2 great passions. Paul Smith was fascinated by cycling ever since he was 12. He was passionate about the sport long before he was fascinated by fashion. An accident caused for him to give up cycling when he was 18, but he remained a great fan of the sport. Can you imagine his enthusiasm when he was asked to redesign the leaders' jerseys for the Giro d'Italia? What could be better than combining his two great passions: cycling and fashion? There is a blog post on the Paul Smith blog today. It concludes: "Simplifying the design of the jerseys, Paul has reworked the coveted Maglia Rosa, the Red Jersey of the points classification, the Blue Jersey of the King of the Mountains classification and the White Jersey of the young riders classification. In addition to Paul's interpretation of each jersey, the inside of the collar of the Maglia Rosa bears the signature of the late Fiorenzo Magni as a tribute to the unforgettable campione and Giro winner who died last December."
