It's always a pleasure to see that the work of a Flemish artist gets "picked" by an international project. Recently Sarah Ferri got the honour. Her song On My Own was used as the soundtrack for the Russian issue of Vogue. The internet has indeed turned the world into a village. Just imagine how long it would have taken just ten years ago for a song to reach the editors of the Russian Vogue.
Sarah grew up in a warm Belgian/Italian nest. She's totally fascinated by the unique styles of nightingales like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. Her songs are a blend of seventies folk and sunny gipsy jazz from the fifties, infused with fairy dust...
And this is also the perfect weekend tune. Enjoy.
