Tempted, but not quite...

Yes, I admit... When I got an email from Mobistar this week, announcing that the iPhone is finally coming to Belgium tomorrow, I felt the urge to immediately respond and reserve my very own, legally obtained, uncracked, iPhone. But, something kept me from doing so. What was it? My inner self pointed out that for the packet of euros that I could spend on the telephone (which is still the function that I would use the most) I could buy lots of other fun things, including a new phone... But, there is more to consider... In the States, the 3G iPhone sells for much (and I mean MUCH) less than the Belgian price. This is just plain robbery! Sorry Apple, I know the iPhone is gorgeous and I'm sure I would love it to death, but still, this is pretty much unacceptable! How can you sell the same piece of equipment at 4 times the price? Yes! FOUR TIMES THE PRICE! In the US the 8GB version costs 199 USD, here it costs 505 euros, that is just about 800 USD! Outrageous, even for Apple to do this! This is just not something I appreciate...
