Whatever happened to Zap Mama?

I remember Zap Mama as huge... Their songs travelled all over the world and one of them Iko Iko even made it to the soundtrack of Mission Impossible 2. So, when I was told there was going to be a small tour of Belgium this fall, I did not hesitate.

But... right now I feel like I was the only one to remember Marie Daulne and her Mamas... Ticket sales are OK, but not as you would expect. How fast do we forget our heroes? Is it because the quality of their work is less than before? No... and take a look at this video if you don't believe me. So, what makes a super group super? What makes U2 still sell all those tickets after all these years? Image? Style? Marketing? I wonder...

But anyway, Zap Mama is touring (Oostende, 17 October) and if you get a chance to go see the show, don't hesitate. These ladies are still as hot as ever!
