I have blogged about Music For Life extensively, I know... That is an event that raises awareness and money but it is also an event that creates warmth among the people of a whole country (or at least, the Flemish part of our country).
charity: water is different. Started by Scott Harrison in 2004 because he wanted something else than a regular birthday gift. He felt the need to give. And he has been giving ever since. The story is amazing. The mission is simple: supply people with clean water. All money that comes into the organization is spent on building wells and giving hope to people who need it so desperately. No. You don't get anything in return. You give. That's the point. Scott's told his story at an event in 2010 and you can watch his talk below. But first take a look at the first video, the effect something like this has on people. And yes... 1 person CAN make a difference.
